Mexicans living in Greece celebrated the Day of the Dead in downtown Athens, at the neighborhood of Psyrri. Día de los Muertos, as it is known in Spanish, is a holiday when according to tradition people gather to pray and remember friends and family members who have passed away. In 2008 the tradition was inscribed in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO and it is celebrated at the last day of October, and the first two days of November.
